Dear Italian Phlebologist,
I invite you to participate in the First European Venous Forum Workshop on Venous Disease November 4-6, 2010 at Golden Beach hotel, Larnaca, Cyprus. The Organizing Committee, which I am chairing includes Athanasios Giannoukas, Andrew Nicolaides, Peter Neglén, Nicos Labropoulos and Stylianos Pappas. The Faculty is comprised of 24 world leaders in the field of venous disease. We anticipate that 100 delegates, mainly from Europe, will attend the meeting. The program will offer lectures in the morning, followed by case discussions and hands-on workshops in the afternoon. The overall objective is to focus on treatment of venous disease in clinical practice. The program will include 28 lectures, 17 case discussions and 15 hours of hands-on sessions. Please see the attached preliminary program. All faculty will stay on throughout the meeting and all participants must attend all parts of the program in order to receive an attendance diploma. This will give a unique opportunity for industry, faculty and participants to spend time together. If successful, the plan is to repeat this workshop in different parts of Europe on an annual basis.

The workshops will be lead by at least one of the faculty members and be designed together with our industrial partners. We will offer demonstrations and hands-on experience in Trellis and AngioJet for early thrombus removal; insertion of IVC filter; angioplasty and stenting for iliocaval obstruction; use of IVUS; radiofrequency, laser and foamsclero therapy for varicose veins; duplex scanning; bandages and other compression devices.
